The Princess

This Pen and Ink style image started life as a colour photo, I turned it into a monochrome image then adjusted the contrast and threshold levels until I reach the required result.

Rope and Rust

This watercolour style image is from a photograph taken in Cyprus on my last vacation. I used GIMP1.2 for this image, and downloaded a water colour effect, a Script-Fu module by Iccii named script_fu_water_paint_effect to be exact, to create this image. GIMP is very powerful and you can write or download scripts to apply controlled processing to an image.

Big Wave

This watercolour style image is from a photograph taken on vacation in Madeira. It is getting very simple to produce good painting style images from photographs, I hope I do not get too lazy and stop painting!

Egypt

This dream like picture is from a photograph taken on vacation in Egypt. The chap in the background insisted I pay him for taking the picture, as his camel was clearly in shot, I did not pay him much, about 50 British pence but he seemed happy so I guess it was too much. The picture has been digitally diffused and over-exposed to get a dream-like quality.
