Firstly you may which to check the news for anything interesting happening so simply enter news for a brief summary of recent events.

You may wish to get the status of your units or receive reports on your civilisation or units. The command report [on <system|object|civil civilid>] produces the report seen below on the current (or specified) civilisation. So entering the command report produces:

This report first shows the name of the civilisation the report is for and the funds level in the central funds. Many other funds can be found distributed across your systems and units, the number in the high level report does not include those funds. You may transfer funds between units or between the central fund and units, planets etc, by issuing an order e.g. transfer funds 1000 from Earth to Mars.

Next in the report you see a list of units under their respective hierarcy tree. To get a more detail status on these units you must request them to report e.g. Div1 send report which will be transmitted across Galnet to the unit which will then respond as required.

Finally in the report you see the list of stars and planets which you are allied to, own or control and their classification. To get a list of the currently known systems and their stellar objects you ask for a map.

To get more detail on one of the stellar objects request a report e.g. report on Earth.

To receive a report from a unit, request the report type required e.g. Div1 send status report or Div1 report is sufficient for a detailed report. Report types available are: location, status, detail and battle. The report will not appear immediately as it needs to reach the unit/person requested over Galnet.

You can also get reports from all units under a specific hierarcy, e.g. the command all army units report will result in all army type units sending a report and (the shorter form) navy report will do the same for the navy. Another example is all navy units send location report.
